Mesa Primary Bath Remodel

A primary bath rebuilt around a barrel-vaulted alcove — book-matched stone, a freestanding tub, and a walk-through shower with no door to clean.

The existing bath had the square footage but none of the drama. The rebuild centers on an arched alcove that frames the tub and gives the room a focal point it never had.

Book-matched stone wraps the alcove wall and continues onto the tub deck, so the veining reads as one piece rather than a series of slabs. The textured wall covering flanking it keeps the stone from feeling heavy, and backlit mirrors above each vanity add depth without another light fixture competing overhead.

The shower is a walk-through with no door — full-height marble-look porcelain, a bench, and dual fixtures. It is easier to clean than a framed enclosure and it keeps the line of sight across the room uninterrupted.

Storage was the quiet win. The vanities gained full-height drawer banks and the alcove picked up recessed shelving, which is what actually makes a bathroom livable after the photographs are taken.
